Origami Lotus Bookmark
Difficulty level: Easy
Tools needed: A square piece of paper.
A 4″ x 4″ piece of paper will make a lotus bookmark of approximately 2.3″ x 2″ dimensions. You can make it bigger, but a starting square beyond 6″ x 6″ is not recommended as the bookmark will be too big.

1. Start with a square piece of paper. Place it in a diamond position.
2. Fold bottom corner to top corner. Crease and unfold.
3. Fold left corner to right corner. Crease and unfold.
5. Reposition the paper so that it is a square shape. Fold the left side to the right side. Crease and unfold.
6. Fold the top side to the bottom side.
7. Collapse the top right corner inwards as shown.
8. Repeat for the upper left corner. You should get a triangle as shown.
9. Take the top layer and fold the right side upwards. Do not match the tips, but leave a gap.
10. Repeat for the left side.
11.Take the bottom layer and fold the right side upwards, with an increase in gap with the top layer.
12. Repeat for the left side.
13. Unfold both sides of the bottom layer only.
14. Open the right bottom layer slightly, and fold upwards and outwards (reverse fold) as shown.
15. The result of the reverse fold. Repeat for the left side.
16. Finished product. Pry open the bottom and start using it.
